This year we decided to go to the French clubmatch for the dogue de bordeaux – the Nationale d’Élevage – with our junior female Vesper. Being the breed’s native country, the Nationale d’Élevage in France is a very special and unique show with dogs from all over Europe. The show was held in the city of Tilque at the Chateau de Tilque – an absolutely beautiful setting for the event, with the show rings situated on the lawns right in front of the castle. There were 110 entries in total, 13 entries in the junior female class alone – and Vesper had an amazing weekend ending up winning Best Junior Female! Needless to say, we are over the moon and so proud of her achievement! ;o) Peter unfortunately couldn’t be part of the trip, so Vesper was handled by her breeder, Kristine Schoubye, in the ring. Pictures below from our…
What a weekend!! The Danish Dogue de Bordeaux Club had a doubleshow this weekend with the Club Match on Saturday judged by breed specialist Mr. Jürgen Sauer. North-End Bordeauxs Akane “Vesper” was entered both days in Junior Class and won the class both days, thereby achieving 2 Junior Club CACs making her JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPION! ;oD The Club Match on Saturday also gave her the title DDB JUNIOR WINNER 2018. She went 4th best female on Saturday – on Sunday she went all the way winning Best Female and ending up as BOS. I’ll just repeat myself – what a weekend!! ;oD
On May 11, 12 and 13 the Danish Kennel Club had a 3-day show in Roskilde. We only showed Vesper, as Carla just had her puppies and Penny is not yet 2 years old and therefore don’t need more certificates until after her 2 year birthday. Vesper did very well and took the Junior CAC all three days – which means she became Junior Champion on the last day!! 😀 On top of that, she also managed to take the CAC two out of the three days – so she now only needs one CAC after her 2 year birthday to become Danish Champion. Needless to say, we were over the moon and very happy with her achievements! 😉 And more good news from Vesper – she has had her elbows x-rayed and received the official status: AD/0! So right now we can’t ask for more from her. 😀 Speaking…
We managed to get everybody on the table for a last photoshoot this weekend, so you can find new pictures of each puppy on the X-litter page. Time flies SO fast these days and by the end of the weekend, 6 of the 7 puppies will have left the house to move in with their new families. Xia will stay with us… ;o) The whole gang went for the vet check-up on Monday and at the same time, the vet took out DNA-material from each puppy to do the POAG test. Results will arrive from England in 2-3 weeks and will off course be posted on the X-litter page, as soon as we have them.
The puppies have certainly met a lot of people this weekend! On Saturday 4 of the new puppy-families came to visit the gang, and on Sunday we celebrated our youngest daughter Sally’s 6th birthday with a birthday party of 12 girls! No doubt, the puppies enjoyed all the attention – but they were pretty tired by the end of the weekend… ;o) Below a few pictures from Sunday – and off course a little video of the puppies playing in the garden. All puppies have now been picked out by their families and all names have been put on the X-litter page. ;o)
X-litter 6 weeks today – and they will be leaving in only 2 weeks!! Can’t believe how fast the time went… :-/ Below a video and a couple of pictures of the gang. And also we have updated the X-litter page with new pictures of everybody. We tried to do table-pictures this time, not the easiest job in the world(!) and the quality of the pictures could definitely be better, but hopefully it will give you an idea of each puppy. ;o)
A couple of new videos of the puppies – 5 weeks yesterday. Lunchtime inside the puppy pen and a taste of fresh air outside in the garden, which they all just love! ;o)
The puppies are developing fast and are now getting very curious about the other dogs, Penny and Vesper. Vesper has completely fallen in love with the entire gang of petits and is ready to adopt all 7 puppies, if Carla gets tired of them… ;o) Videos below of playtime with “aunt Vesper”. The litter has now been registered with the kennel club, which means that all 7 names have been chosen, however not all puppies have been picked out yet by their families… We will put the names on the X-litter page, once the puppies have been picked out – so far the two boys and two females have been picked out, their names are on the X-litter page. ;o)
This weekend the litter moved from their quiet and secluded surroundings in the laundry room and into the middle of the livingroom! They are 4 weeks old now and for the next 4 weeks until the puppies leave for their new homes, they will be exposed to all the everyday sounds and actions of a family – the TV, cooking dinner in the kitchen, the vacuum cleaner, children running and playing and off course the other dogs in the house, Penny and Vesper.
The X-litter is now 3½ weeks old and today was the day to try real food for the first time! Also, we took the boards off the entrance to the whelping box today, which means that the puppies are now free to walk in and out of the box and move around the whole puppy pen. Once they start eating real food, Carla won’t clean up after them anymore, so they will now need to go outside the whelping box and use the papers… Videos below of their very first meal. ;o) Male 1 and Female 1 were the first ones to come out of the whelping box and discover the food…but soon all 7 were gathered around the bowl… ;o) After the meal they all needed a nap…. ;o)
