PBGV puppies & DdB HD and show
As we have previously posted, our PBGV female Peanut was bred to our male Whiskey in January. We have now done an ultrasound scan on Peanut, and it confirms that she is expecting puppies, however only a very small litter. The puppies are to arrive in the middle of March. Our DdB youngsters turned 18 months in January, which means we can now do the official hip x-ray to determine their HD-status. We have x-rayed the hips of our male Krondal’s T-Rex “Hondo” and it has been set to an A on one side and B on the other side, which we are very happy about. Hondo and his half-sister Valka went to the International Dog Show in Fredericia on February 11th and did us proud by winning Best Male and Best Female. Hondo ended up as Best Of Breed and Valka as Best Opposite Sex. Valka received the last…
Planned PBGV litter
Peanut started her heat today and we have decided to breed her to our own Whiskey, so if all goes well, we are expecting puppies in March 2023. If you are interested in a puppy from this litter, you are welcome to send us an email at karina.krondal@gmail.com.
Basset Club Christmas Show Dec22
This weekend was the last show of the year on our part, the Basset Club Christmas Show. Our male Krondal’s Whiskey In The Jar was entered in Champion Class and won the class and became 2nd Best Male. He received his 3rd Club Certificate and is now only one certificate away from becoming Club Champion – we are hoping to achieve this next year. Selma also participated in the junior handling competition and won – well done! :o) Show season is over in 2022 and next show for us will be mid Feb23 and as we have no upcoming litters as of now, we will just relax with the dogs for the next couple of months. ;o) Wishing you all a very merry Christmas! :o)
Danish Winner Show 2022
This weekend was the Danish Kennel Club’s last show of the year, which also included the title Danish Winner 2022. Our young boy Krondal’s T-Rex “Hondo” did us very proud by winning Best Of Breed at only 15 months of age. He thereby gained the titles Danish Junior Winner 2022 and Danish Winner 2022, thereby following in his halfsister Valka’s footsteps, as she took both titles last year. ;o)
Update on all the dogs
Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen: Firstly, we had to make the sad decision a few months back to find a new home for Around Keeping The Dream Alive “Humle”. Humle did not thrive in the pack here and we felt that she would fit better as an only-dog in another family. We have found the perfect family for Humle and are pleased to see how she’s enjoying her new life as the only dog in the house. We therefore only have Peanut now in terms of having PBGV puppies, and we are not expecting a litter of PBGVs until the second half of 2023. Our last litter (the S-litter) now has their own page in the Our Breeding section. Dogue de Bordeaux: Krondal’s Valka has had her official status on hips and elbows and she came out with the brilliant result of HD/A and AD/0 – we are so pleased with…

Valka was only entered Saturday and became 2nd in intermediate class with Excellent+CK.
Puppies and show
Firstly: Peanut’s puppies have arrived – 1 boy and 1 girl. Mom and puppies are all doing great and with only two puppies, it’s an easy job for Peanut. ;o) Both puppies are reserved. Last weekend was a DKK 3-day show in Roskilde. Luckily it’s only a 10-minute drive from us, so we could easily attend the show and go home during the day to check up on Peanut and the puppies. We entered Humle (PBGV) two days, Valka (DdB) two days and Hondo (DdB) all three days. Humle and Valka did good, they both got Excellent both days but unfortunately did not receive any CACs or CACIBs. Hondo has just turned 9 months and was entered in Junior Class and he managed to win the class all three days and received a total of 2 x Junior CAC and 1 x CAC – so we are off course very…
Danish Basset Club show with Whiskey
This weekend we went to the Basset Club show in Nyborg with Whiskey. Humle was 3 days short of being 2 years old, so we are waiting for the next show to bring her. ;o) Selma was showing Whiskey (as she always does) and it went very well. Whiskey was entered in Champion Class and became Best Male and BOS and thereby achieved his first Club Certificate. Furthermore, Selma participated in the junior handling competition, which she won, so the day was a big success in every way. ;o) Peanut’s pregnancy is going as planned and she is doing good – 3 more weeks to go. ;o)
PBGV upcoming litter & new DKCH title
Peanut was scanned this week and she IS pregnant – however, she is only carrying two puppies. We don’t know the gender of the puppies yet – time will tell when they arrive mid May – but we know for sure that it will only be a very small litter of two. We are hoping for another PBGV litter in the end of the year from Humle, but it all depends on the timing of her next heat, whether or not we will breed her this year. Also, our PBGV male Krondal’s Whiskey In The Jar is now DANISH CHAMPION! Our daughter Selma has proudly handled him in all his shows and she has done a great job, which has now paid off with his champion title! ;o)
