PBGV puppies growing…
The puppies are now 3 ½ weeks old and are quickly learning to move around and explore the world. Below a little video of the puppies and mama Carla in the pen – 5 out of 7 puppies were awake at the time. ;o)

Today we did a scan on our DdB Vesper and pregnancy has now been confirmed, allthough only a small litter. Vesper has been mated to the Italian male Borderline de la Bulle Rouge, we had chilled semen sent from Italy, so we have really been crossing our fingers that the insemination was succesful – and luckily it was. ;o) So, it is going to be a busy puppy-summer this year! We are expecting a PBGV litter around July 1st from Carla, and Vesper’s DdB puppies will arrive 3 weeks later. It is the first time we have 2 litters at the same time, so we need to make some practical arrangements in the house, but we are looking very much forward to a real DOG summer this year! ;o) You can find the full pedigree for both litters in the Planned Litters section with pictures and titles of all ancestors,…
Our PBGV Around Yes Powerdrop “Carla” went into heat end of April and we decided to breed her – and thereby hoping for puppies instead of a summer vacation this year. ;o) Carla was therefore mated to Fodnote You’re My Favorite and she has now been scanned and pregnancy has been confirmed. The summer vacation abroad has therefore now officially been cancelled and we are looking forward to the arrival of a PBGV litter in the beginning of July. ;o) Below picture of the father of the litter, Fodnote You’re My Favorite. Furthermore, we are hoping for a Dogue de Bordeaux litter as well this summer, as North-End Bordeauxs Akane “Vesper” has been mated, however pregnancy has not yet been confirmed. More info on this litter will follow as soon as pregnancy (hopefully) will be confirmed.
We were hoping that Carla’s heat would start just around the year end, but there is no sign of her heat starting anytime soon… She had a “sort-of” heat end of October, but the heat never started properly, so we didn’t count this as a real heat. We thought that she would start a proper heat when Vesper went into heat in December, but nothing happened… We therefore now believe that the October heat did count as a heat after all, and that she won’t be in heat again until 6 months after, which means end of April. So, as it looks right now, there won’t be any update on a coming PBGV litter until April/May… As soon as Carla is in heat and has been mated, we will update our page. ;o)
Everything is back to normal after the DdB puppies left in September – well, two of them left and the last one, Valka, stayed with us. ;o) Valka is developing just like a normal DdB puppy – long legs, long nose, big ears! I am sure she will grow into proportions again later on, but at this age most DdB puppies look funny, so she is developing fully according to plan… ;o) We are waiting for our PBGV female Carla to start her heat…nothing yet, but it should be just around the corner. We will breed her in her upcoming heat, more info on that will follow in our Planned Litters page shortly. All the PBGV youngsters (Peanut, Whiskey and Humle) are doing great and just enjoying life in the countryside, although we are a bit sad that we are not able to show them, as all shows are cancelled…
Vesper’s puppies have arrived! Not everything went as we had hoped during birth and not all puppies made it into this world alive, but we have a beautiful litter now of 3 female puppies – one week old today and all doing well. ;o) Today the puppies got their colored collars, so it’s easier to tell them apart quickly – we now have a yellow girl, a purple girl and a light pink girl. ;o) We will keep one of the puppies ourselves and the other two puppies already have wonderful families waiting for them, so there are no puppies available.
All good news in this newspost! Vesper has been scanned and the mating to Freak was successful – puppies are on the way! Vesper is due end of July and we can’t wait to have DdB puppies in the house again! :o) Also, we have picked up our latest addition to the PBGV pack today at Kennel Around in Sweden; Around Keeping The Dream Alive “Humle”. We were very excited about this mating and absolutely thrilled, that Annicka would let us buy one of the female puppies. Our pack of dogs has welcomed Humle as if she had always lived here, such a joy. This video is taken just an hour after she arrived: IMG_6597
Vesper was mated last week to North-End Bordeauxs Touchdown “Freak” and according to the bloodtests and the vet who performed the insemination, everything looked right and the timing was spot-on. ;o) So now there is nothing left to do but to keep our fingers crossed that DdB puppies are on the way. ;o) We will do a pregnancy scan on Vesper end of June and we will off course post the result here in the news section, as soon as we know.
